Study Abroad in Prague: Overview
Program at a glance
- Academic year, fall or spring semester, (summer session also available)
- Open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors
- Good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 preferred. Students in good standing with a GPA of 2.7 or above are encouraged to apply and will be considered on a case by case basis.
- Program fee includes tuition, housing, meal allowance, London visit, excursions
and cultural activities, airfare if selected, trips to Kraków and Vienna, and more
- Courses taught in English in art history, economics, film studies, history, literature, music, political science, psychology, religion, sociology and theater, plus Czech language
- Transcripts issued by Charles University
- Czech language study during the semester is optional
- 2-week orientation and intensive Czech language preparation for three semester credits
- Volunteer opportunities in the local community and at Lobkowicz Palace and Nelahozeves Castle
- The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
- Student visa must be obtained from a Czech embassy or consulate prior to departure from U.S.
